Over the last year, RCN members and essential workers across the UK used our collective voices.

We voted for historic strike action across the UK and took to picket lines in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to fight for the care our patients deserve. The public supported us and politicians eventually had to listen.

But the UK Government is changing the law on strikes to take away your freedoms and ability to be heard. The government has already passed measures to limit the freedom of nursing staff in ambulance services to go on strike and will soon seek to do the same for all those who work in hospitals.

We need the freedom to strike when governments stop listening.

No one who wants to take part in a lawful strike should be forced to work against their wishes.

This is a fundamental freedom worth fighting for together.

Write to your MP now. Tell them to oppose these measures.
