The RCN is urgently calling on the Humber and North Yorkshire ICB to:

• Meet with the senior management of the Care Plus Group to discuss on-going strike action by nursing staff.

• Urgently discuss with the Care Plus Group how to resolve the current pay dispute.

• Work to ensure that nursing staff employed by the Care Plus Group are paid the same as their NHS colleagues on Agenda for Change pay rates.

The Care Plus Group (CPG) is a social business commissioned to deliver services for the NHS by the local Integrated Care Board (ICB). 

CPG nursing staff:
•    Deliver critical NHS services across Grimsby, Cleethorpes and North East Lincolnshire.
•    Are qualified, skilled, and experienced just like their NHS nursing colleagues.
•    Work tirelessly for patients and their families.

Despite all this, they are paid less than their NHS counterparts and employees of other providers commissioned by the ICB do pay their staff the appropriate rate and match NHS pay.

But its more than just a question of fairness. After years of poor pay, the CPG struggles to retain and recruit the highly skilled, professional nursing staff that they need to deliver YOUR local services. Their remaining staff are constantly over stretched, under pressure and under paid. 

No longer can they accept low wages, an ever-increasing workload, burn-out and poor morale. Without better pay and parity with the NHS, CPG will be unable to provide the safe and effective care YOU need, expect, and deserve.
